Khalifman was so far ahead in the previous round he had already won the tournament. While this was one of Judit's poorest results in some time, she was seconded by her new husband (Gustav Fonts, a veterinarian) for part of this tournament, perhaps not the best strategy from a competative standpoint. Plus, she had to risk losing her second game against Khalifman, and had little reason to do anything but draw in the last round. I have not doubt she'll bounce back in Lisbon November 18.
