Partners helping children and families:

District 202

Description: Providing social, cultural, educational opportunities by and for lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth and their friends.

Programs include: HIV/STD Risk Reduction, Homeless Youth Outreach, Youth Employment, Drop-In Center, Multi-Media/Computer Resource Room.

Comments: An at-risk population in need of service.



Storefront/Youth Action

Description: A diverse, community based human service provider focusing on the needs of school aged children and their families through education, prevention, intervention and treatment programs that promote positive growth and development

Programs and goals: Project Charlie provides elementary and middle school age children with in home programs geared to preventing alcohol and drug use and strengthening parenting skills around these issues. In collaboration with The Search Institute, wants to do an evaluation to measure actual effectiveness of program not only for benefit of Storefront program development, but to help other agencies dealing with these issues.

Comments: Well-respected youth serving agency in ADC's backyard (south Mpls., Edina, Bloomington).
