( 1 )Complete a volunteer interest form

Make sure that you get first shot at all interesting positions by completing a no-obligation volunteer interest form.



( 2 )Determine if you want training

Consulting and nonprofit board membership training is free.



( 3 )Look at assignments that interest you

You will be notified when a position suited to your skills and interests is found, or you can check for yourself.



( 4 )Accept an assignment

You'll spend a few hours a week as a consultant for two or three months, or a few hours every month or two as a board member.
